Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create docx file with multiple continuous sections.
2. Open it in Writer

Comment 2 Dieter 2018-04-26 07:40:07 UTC
I can see two sections:
Section one with the name "TextSection" and section two with the name "Section1". They are also displayed in the navigator => section.

So I can't see any problem.

So perhaps it's only a Linux issue.

Please explain exactly what's missing and what's the problem with this document in LO (because sections are handled differently).

There has been a lot of changes recently regarding section protection. So perhaps you will want to check again with master (or even 6.2).

However, sections in writer and word are completely different, so there is only "emulation" and you can't expect them to be identical in every respect. Writer will "merge" identical (unnecessary) sections, and the first section will disappear into the "hidden" automatic section. So I would fully expect the number of "sections" to be one less than what Word indicates.
