Dear Libreoffice developers team I find myself writing an important and long work with your program, until now it is being a positive and pleasant experience. Although there is one aspect that I find improvable. The management of images and the flow of text. The existing options are very good, but I was wondering if you could include something like latex. An anchor to the page, but not as now, now is fixed to the page where it is placed and does not move. It would be fantastic if there was the option to fix it with two anchors, one to the page and another to the paragraph in such a way that it would always be anchored to the same page where the paragraph in question is located. Thank you very much for your work
You can anchor an image to a paragraph and position it relative to the page. You find the settings in tab "Type" of the image properties. Does that work for you?
Thank you, is a partial solution but not perfect. Suppose I have put the anchor to the paragraph and the configuration to align the picture at the top of the page. If there is space all work fine, but if the picture and the paragraph do not fix in the available space it jumps to the next page, leaving the space without anything. I would like the program to continue writing and put the photo at the beginning of the next page, as latex does. But thank you for the comment, it is a partial solution.
Jose: it seems your proposal would also solve the request of bug 89477, correct?

Sorry, I was abroad. Yes, it will definitely solve bug 89477
Just to make things clear, a quick and oversimplified review of what LaTeX does by default (users can change those settings) with its "floats," either figure or table, always considering the insertion point as reference: 1. If there is space, figure is moved to the top of the page text area 2. If there is no space on top, figure is moved to the bottom of the text area 3. If still there is no place, figure is moved to the following page 4. If *still* there is no place, figure gets its own page, as close as possible to the insertion point The probability of getting two pictures superpose is exactly zero in LaTeX, and they will never cover footnotes. All this is performed automatically by LaTeX every time the document is compiled. In Writer you can set the frame positioning to be on top or bottom of the text area, even in the frame style, but there is a high risk of two pictures going one on top of the other or accidentally covering footnotes, so you need to do the positioning by hand for each frame, and then move anchor points of those frames to avoid "holes" at the end of page when the paragraph to which the frame is anchored moves to the next page.
(In reply to Jose from comment #5) > Sorry, I was abroad. Yes, it will definitely solve bug 89477 Then let's make this a duplicate. Please copy/paste important comments such as c6 to the other ticket. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 89477 ***
(In reply to Jose from comment #0) > It would be fantastic if there was the option to > fix it with two anchors, one to the page and another to the paragraph in > such a way that it would always be anchored to the same page where the > paragraph in question is located. This is *exactly* what is existing currently, and what is described by Regina in comment 2. (In reply to Jose from comment #2) > is a partial solution but not perfect. This addition is not a dupe of bug 89477, but a request for allowing the positioning to be on the two pages adjacent to the page of anchored-to content when it makes sense algorithmically. This is a valid request on its own (and I have a feeling there were duplicating requests for this).
