Description adrians1050 2018-05-05 14:01:47 UTC
Description:
The Delete Sheet and Move/Copy Sheet options are greyed out. The spreadsheet has no protection i.e. these functions should be enabled.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open spreadsheet
2.Select tab
3.Select Sheet/Delete or Move/Copy

Actual Results:
Delete and Move/Copy are greyed out (not available)

Expected Results:
Nothing. I had to port the spreadsheet to a Windoze machine and delete the sheets using Excel.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
I've been using LibreOffice for years and used to be able to delete or move/copy sheets but the last three versions installed have acted as described above.

LibreOffice/About LibreOffice:
Version: 6.0.3.2
Build ID: 8f48d515416608e3a835360314dac7e47fd0b821
CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.13.4; UI render: default;
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); Calc: group

Opened LibreOffice in Safe Mode and loaded the spreadsheet with the same results. (User profile OK). Enabling Open GL in LibreOffice Preferences produced the same results. GL currently disabled. Using Anti-aliasing.

Can not confirm on Windows 10 Home 64-bit en-US with
Version: 6.0.4.1 (x64)

STR

Move sheet:
1. create two calc documents
2. add 3 sheets to first doc and add content to a few cells
3. add 2 sheets to second doc and add content to a few cells
4. select 3rd sheet of first doc
5. from main menu open Sheet -> Move or Copy Sheet... dialog
6. select the Move (or Copy )radio button
7. select To document (the other, or a new doc)
8. select the insert location
9. OK

Sheet is moved from first doc to second doc, if copy rather than move RB is selected it copies.

Delete sheet:
1. use the existing open docs
2. select one of the sheets
3. from main menu Sheet -> Delete Sheet...
4. on click of the menu entry the sheet is deleted.

All entries on the Sheet menu seem to function as intended.

@adrians: please provide us with a sample problematic spreadsheet file with which we can test.

Does the sheet have any copy/edit protection in place ?

Setting to NEEDINFO pending requested information / test file.
Comment 4 Alex Thurgood 2018-05-07 06:57:00 UTC
@adrians: forget my question about sheet/cell protection, I see you have indicated that none is activated. Sample problematic file still necessary though a two separate QA testers have reported this as working.

My steps :

1) Create a new Calc file.
2) Type some content into a random number of cells.
3) Add a new sheet.
4) Type some content into a random number of cells.
5) Select Sheet2 tab, right mouse button click, Copy sheet, select in front of Sheet1 as destination.
6) Select Sheet1 tab, right mouse button click, Move sheet to end.

Both sheets were either successfully copied / moved as intended.

I created 2 new spreadsheets and added additional sheets.

I was then able to copy/move and delete sheets (commands active).

I still cannot do this on the spreadsheets created in a much earlier version.

Should I try Reset Properties?
Comment 6 adrians1050 2018-05-11 02:34:22 UTC
My apologies to all concerned.

When I went into the file properties I found that I'd ticked 'Record Changes' under the security tab. When I unchecked this option the spreadsheet went back to normal operation i.e. able to Delete and Move/Copy.

I've been using the program since years before the split with Apache, but clearly don't know all its ins and outs as a user.

Many Thank You's to those who helped.
