Hi,

With all 6.0.X Libreoffice versions, it is impossible to update le language of an odt file. Right click is not possible.

Still true with :

Version: 6.0.4.2 (x64)
Build ID: 9b0d9b32d5dcda91d2f1a96dc04c645c450872bf
Threads CPU : 8; OS : Windows 10.0; UI Render : par défaut; 
Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR); Calc: group

I can confirm with 6.0.3 but not with Version: 6.1.0.0.alpha1+ (x64)

Seems to be fixed with dev version. Please could you test it with

Hello, try to write clear steps how to reproduce the the problem. Your description says odt file, your printscreen is from Calc. I checked right click on bottom toolbar

Sorry, I mean *ods file, in calc module.

Once you have choozen a language with right click on bottom toolbar (it works in 6.1 version not in any 6.0.x), enter any text with spell mistakes in any cell.
Mistakes, should be red underligned. As I did not notice this behavior, I opened "Abc" menu on top toolbar and got what you see in attachement named "Spellcheck doesn't work".
Text language is empty, it should be French, the list where to chooze the language is empty. No mistake is found.

So you have the problem even though you have French spellchecking installed?

I can not reproduce the bug in:
Version: 6.0.5.1
Build ID: 0588a1cb9a40c4a6a029e1d442a2b9767d612751
CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 4.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2; 

I have a difference in my Language configuration vs the attachment 142045 [details] (Language configuration). 
In the Western field: 
 yours :     Default-French France
 mine  : Abc Default-Spanish Argentina
           
There is a list of languages to select, some of them have the Abc(spelling) and others don't. 
Please try selecting a language that has the Abc (spelling) sign.
