Description Bob McConnell 2018-05-14 13:54:22 UTC
Description:
Some weird web browser was installed. Could not close. It occupied the entire top of my screen. Finally found it in Control Panel and killed it. It did not show in task manager. This software was too annoying to be worth what they are paying you to install it. I assume I missed a chance to opt out, but I am still very unhappy at the wasted time to get rid of it.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.reinstall libre office
2.
3.

Actual Results:
I missed an opt-out during installation.

Expected Results:
normal install of libre office

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
not installed the terrible browser

I'm not sure where you got your version of LO from, but normally there shouldn't be any browser installed in the first place. Atleast not on all versions that I ever installed.

LibreOffice *does not* install a web browser.

Please, please, please at least verify md5 / sha256 hash if not signatures for any installation package you download and install.

Here there is NOTHING actionable as we'd need a whole bunch of information to even take a guess. Like:

1. what "process" (name of the executable) did you kill from control panel?
2. what Operating System and Desktop environment are you working in?
3. what was the "source" of the LibreOffice "installation" you performed?
4. did you verify the download hash or signature?
