Hidden paragraphs option under view menu is missing. Impact Paragraphs marked as hidden by adding 'Fields > Functions > Hidden Paragraphs' are always displayed on screen. However these paragraphs stay hidden in exported PDF files / printouts.
Can find "Hidden Paragraophs" in LO 5.4.6 but not in 6.1.0.0. I assume, that this is intended, because the whole structure of the menu has changed. So I would say it's NOTASBUG. But let's ask design team. You can add the entry via options => Customize => Menus
"View - Hidden Paragraphs" is there in 5.3 but I don't see it from 5.4. Also mentioned in bug 99995. Since I cannot find an explanation and help still mentions this, I'll set to New, unless explained otherwise. https://help.libreoffice.org/Writer/Hidden_Paragraphs https://help.libreoffice.org/6.1/en-US/text/swriter/guide/hidden_text_display.html
Entry was removed on purpose. This setting can be changed in Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > Formatting Aids.
Removed from Writer menubar with https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/gitweb?p=core.git;a=commitdiff;h=adb5cdcf2352d3f1c78645feafc4c270b58b197a done for https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/37727/ But not clear if it was intentional at that point. @Jay? Believe it slipped in during work on bug 107658 to decouple Hidden Text & Paragraph from showing with the Formatting marks--but present in a sub-menu on the View menu. Required new UNO command for Hidden Text -- bug 107722 Should be simple to restore it somewhere about https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sw/uiconfig/swriter/menubar/menubar.xml#203 Meanwhile, the display of hidden Text and Paragraphs is toggled by check box from the Writer Formatting Aids (Toolls -> Options -> LO Writer -> Formatting Aids: Display Of controls.
(In reply to Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired) from comment #3) > Entry was removed on purpose. Which purpose, where's it explained? I can't say if it's justified or maybe opposite was better, to have both View - Hidden - Fields Paragraphs and View - Hidden - Fields Text and even View - Hidden - Text as mentioned in Bug 107658. There's enough space in View menu for that single entry. Or icons are enough, like requested in Bug 107722. Those who use this more should tell. At least this was done too hasty, without changing documentation. (In reply to Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired) from comment #3) > This setting can be changed in Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > Formatting Aids. I don't like how "Display of" look like, all is there. There should be separate group that is toggled via Formatting Marks icon on the Standard bar ("Formatting Marks Toggle") and separate group that is not ("Display of").

There is no haste involved, and documentation will always lag behind. > (In reply to Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired) from comment #3) > > This setting can be changed in Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > Formatting Aids. > I don't like how "Display of" look like, all is there. > There should be separate group that is toggled via Formatting Marks icon on > the Standard bar ("Formatting Marks Toggle") and separate group that is not > ("Display of"). Please file an enhancement bug for it.
Statement is clear, so closing the ticket now.
I don't really agree with the explanation, View menu is shorter than other menus. But I don't oppose to closing the bug because I don't use those hidden fields. We should have users say what they think, are they satisfied with Tools-Options (not likely) or they still prefer View menu or toolbar icons.
