Description: By using the keyboard dialogue in system settings I have stopped the cursor blinking in most parts of the system. However I have just migrated from Ubuntu 17.10 to 18.04, and then from Writer version 5.4.2.2 to 6.0.3.2. 5.4.2.2 in both versions of Ubuntu I was OK. Going from 5.4.2.2 to 6.0.3.2 has triggered the unstoppable cursor blinking. I have had an unstoppable cursor blinking problem with versions of Writer previous to 5.4.2.2. Steps to Reproduce: 1.open keyboard in system settings 2.uncheck cursor blinking 3.open writer Actual Results: see blinking cursor Expected Results: see cursor which isn't blinking Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: [Information automatically included from LibreOffice] Locale: en-US Module: TextDocument [Information guessed from browser] OS: Linux (All) OS is 64bit: yes User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0
Tested on Libreoffice Version: 6.1.0.0.alpha1+, OS: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. No issue found, couldn't replicate, working fine for me. Cursor was static when cursor blinking was turned off. It was blinking when it was turned on.
Tested on Version: 6.0.3.2 Stable from Ubuntu repository. No issues found as reported in this bug report.
Jon: it might be that something got messed up in your Ubuntu system settings in the migration. You could also test LibreOffice in Safe mode: Help - Restart in safe mode and then Continue in safe mode.
