Created attachment 142544 [details] A trivial file to test it. When I use the command 'Ctr + *' for take control of 'the current region' if in my data I have some merged cells this command end at the beginning of the merged cells, and I suppose than it will work to select all the data that are connected and no matter if I have merged files.

Ctrl + * is used to insert cells in Calc, ins't it ? Did you mean Ctrl + A ? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' once the question has been answered
Hi to everyone. Xisco, when I say 'Ctr + *' it mean just that, if you use this command, the sheet will select all the cells whit some kind of information, but if you use the command 'Ctr + A' or 'Ctr + E' (Spanish version) the sheet will select all the cells. But if you want to select only the cells with information or data and you have a merged cells (vertically, cause horizontally it works great), the command 'Ctr + *' is not working as it supposed to be, cause instead to select ALL the cells with data, it will stop until the merged cells. I attach a new file where you can try.
