steps:
1. open LO
2. in start menu, File > Open
3. select an SVG
4. file open in impress rather than Draw

opens in Draw in 6.0.

Works as described in commit message [1], an SVG exported from Draw is opened in Draw. An SVG exported from Impress is opened in Impress. So, looks to be intended.

Yes, intended:
own SVG from Draw -> Draw
own SVG from Impress -> Impress
all others -> Draw

For the record, i was opening an svg not created in libreofficec and it was opening in impress rather than draw.

What produced the SVG, and can you attach it?

Was testing some SVGs from other bugs that had been closed as fixed. Assume https://dev.w3.org/SVG/tools/svgweb/samples/svg-files/DroidSans.svg from bug 97566 was one of them, but that works fine now.
