Description bob 2018-06-28 14:14:18 UTC
Description:
recently I encountered a issue where opening the attached xls in liberoffice would result in the incorrect data being displayed for a given field

a example would be there is a table that contains a unique id that describes the configuration of the machine when you look up 1931370121 in libreoffice it returns a differing machine config then when you look up that number in m$ office

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open document in m$ office copy a unique id
2.open document in liberoffice find that same id
3.results differ

Actual Results:
incorrect data displayed

Expected Results:
correct data displayed

Reproducible: Always

Lookup how? There are no formulas in the document, using a simple Find or Find&Replace the cell in C884 is found and there seems to be no other value 1931370121.

If you used the VLOOKUP() function (which isn't anywhere in your document) then make sure that either the range to be looked up (here the Unique# column) is sorted ascending if the 4th parameter 'Sort order' is not given or another value than 0 (for range-lookup), or specify the value 0 as 4th argument fo an unsorted lookup.

Hi bob,
Did you used VLOOKUP() for sort ascending as described by Eike in comment 2?
