Description: I have created a html file with embeded image as a signature for thunderbird mailer one version was created directly throw thunderbird (menu save as html file) one version was done in libreoffice when I write a mail, in the signature If I choose the thunderbird version, the image is here If I choose the libreoffice version, the image is not here it's the same problem that for Bug 115077 - Merge mail wizard send empty images by mail in HTML format Actual Results: No embeded image Expected Results: embeded image Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info:
Created attachment 143291 [details] fhtml file generated by thunderbird
Created attachment 143292 [details] html file generated by libreoffice
Created attachment 143293 [details] libreoffice generated image, not included in html file Perhaps it's the explanation libreoffice WEB do not put images in the html file but create an image file
Any reason you don't just create with Writer and then export to XHTML?
The attachment 143292 [details] was created with libreoffice and saved as html what seems wrong is that image is generated outside the html file (attachment 143293 [details]) the file size is of 1.66 KB so without any embeded image The attachment 143291 [details] created with thunderbird is of 503.40 KB, with embeded image
Hello Worms, Thanks for reporting the issue. COuld you please attach the original .ODT file from which you create the .HTMl file ? Regards
Xisco, There is no odt file, I have created the document, insert image and save it as html file instead of odt file It's not a conversion or an export to html file writer has generated two files : the html file and an image
Created attachment 143446 [details] odt file same as html file this file as the same contents that the html file, but in the odt file, image is included,
Created attachment 143460 [details] the ODF .odt exported to XHTML Here is the ODF document for the signature as XHTML with JPEG embedded. Simply use the Export to XHTML, more likely what you need rather than the HTML 4 transitional the old Save-as filter uses.
Created attachment 143476 [details] signature in thunderbird with whtml file propose by V Stuart Foote V Stuart Foote I have downloaded your xhtml file, and also created an xhtml file as you suggest Image is well embeded in the file, but when I use this file as a signature in thunderbird, result is not good (see the attached jpeg file) and if it was OK this will not solve the bug 115077 with the same problem of empty image (send a mail in html format throw mail merge wizard) Regards
(In reply to worms from comment #10) > Created attachment 143476 [details] > signature in thunderbird with whtml file propose by V Stuart Foote > > V Stuart Foote > I have downloaded your xhtml file, and also created an xhtml file as you > suggest > Image is well embeded in the file, > but > when I use this file as a signature in thunderbird, result is not good (see > the attached jpeg file) You have left the <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> element in there. Take it away and it will work. I verified it works fine in Thunderbird.
Buovjaga for me it's not SOLVED if I must display html source to remove <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> it's not usable but as I can generate signature directly in thunderbird, you can close this bug but the same problem is for Bug 115077 - Merge mail wizard which send empty images by mail in HTML format
