Description Fred Clark 2018-07-09 16:49:45 UTC
Description:
I reinstalled V6.0.5, and found where to format columns. There is a difficulty: Creating a document in Writer, I highlighted the body of text to format as two columns, and went through the process, and the entire document was formatted that way, including the title and two lines at the bottom, all of which were not highlighted. I have not found any help documentation which deals with this task, and if there is a way to select portions of the document which are formatted as single column, and portions which will appear as two, I don't know how to do that. V6 seems to have degraded, therefore, as in V5 column formatting was simple and quick to do.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create Writer document;
2.Highlight body of text to be formatted in multiple columns;
3.Select Format~Page~Columns, select number of columns, and click Apply or OK to see result.

Actual Results:
The entire document, including the title above and lines below the highlighted body of text is reformatted to the multiple column configuration.

Expected Results:
The highlighted body of text ought to have been reformatted to multiple (two) columns and the area above and below the highlighting ought to have remained in single column, (page-wide), format.

Reproducible: Always

Menu entry columns is missing in LO 6.0. This is fixed in LO 6.1 (see bug 115344).
