Description ez 2018-07-17 10:34:08 UTC
Description:
Seems to have started either on last update when I updated a couple months ago after having not updated for more than a year. Or when I upgraded to MacOS High Sierra 10.13.5. I tried uninstalling and re-installing. Uninstalled LibreOffice ver. 6 and went back to 5.4 and then to 5.2.3. Also, tried increasing allocated memory to 200MB, 500MB, & 999MB to no avail. It is a major annoyance. Is LibreOffice just not working with mac any longer?

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open spreadsheet
2.Move cursor from cells to tool bars or buttons and vice versa it happens with every move back and forth.

Actual Results:
1.Open spreadsheet
2.Move cursor from cells to tool bars or buttons and vice versa it happens with every move back and forth.

Expected Results:
5-10 seconds or longer of the spinner indicating loading. The spinner may also go off after 5-10 seconds and then repeat for another 5-10 seconds.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Up until my last upgrade it functioned just like any other spreadsheet, no loading when trying to interact with tool icons or toolbar. The only time loading occurred was when I tried to enter the format window or saved the spreadsheet. Also, there was no loading when moving the cursor back to the cells.

Can you try in Safe mode? Not sure, if this is the location on macOS, but: Help - Restart in safe mode and then Continue in safe mode.

I did start LibreOffice in safe mode and still had the same issue.

@ez : is this only with a particular spreadsheet, or all spreadsheets ?

No repro for me with

What I did to test :

1) Opened a new Calc spreadsheet
2) Clicked in a cell with mouse, typed some text
3) Clicked on another cell, then clicked on the Formula toolbar, selected a formula, validated.
3) Clicked on another cell, then clicked on the Insert Chart button and inserted a chart.

No particularly noticeable lag with any of these operations.

Could you try upgrading to the latest High Sierra release (10.13.6)?

Setting NEEDINFO pending answers to questions raised :

1) specific document causes problem ?
