Created attachment 144301 [details] insert section (left) and edit sections dialogs 1. In Writer, choose Insert - Section -> the dialog Insert Section with a checkbox labelled "Protect" appears. 2. Create a new section by clicking the OK button. 3. Right-click on the section and choose Edit Section -> the dialog Edit Sections appears. The dialog has the same fields as the insert dialog excepting the protection checkbox which is labelled "Protected" here. Both checkboxes should have the same label. Observed in versions from 6.0.3 to 6.2.0.0.alpha0+, but probably present also in older versions.
You got an option button in Edit part.
Agree with Stanislav. The checkbox status is enough feedback whether the protection has been set or not.
