Created attachment 144379 [details] Link to External Data in Sheet or Data Menubar Section Link to external data is in Calc -> Menubar -> Sheet section. My question is should it stay there or move it to Data section. In current master the function is not available so I have to remove the functionality anyway.
Sorry, I don't want look angry, but design team did what they considered one or two years ago, IMHO it's their field what to do with this matter. What I don't appreciate it's change the menus every couple of versions, and curiously there is always a new reason to change them again. Maybe we can consider think twice do one, doing the stuffs in a systematic way in long term, we are not anymore in the early days of LibreOffice, when take the project ahead was the primary. Like example, for those helping users in ask and other places, this changes are really annoying, how many answers became obsoletes?
I just wanted to say that I concur with Miguel Ángel.
Than l will bring back the action to where it is in 6.1 and close the bug. Thanks for the feedback. And only for Information. I am happy that libreoffice is that polished. I will not move actions in calc menubar around. Maybe l found new commands that should be available also in the menubar but I know now that calc is in a good shape.
I guess we can remove the needsUXEval now...
Andreas, I can't find the menu item "Link to external data" in any Calc menu in the current 6.2 master from 3 days ago. Was it removed?
.uno:InsertExternalDataSource should it be moved to data (as it is called insert ... data ...) or as it was to sheet?
It has always been with the other sheet Insert..., when they were in Insert or Sheet menu entry, those options also import data, for me it's better if they stay together.
FYI the calc menubar update patch was reverted. I will discuss the change ideas first in BZ before I submit an patch. So please join the discussion on BZ.
