The automatic save feature is very system intensive. It locks many items from being used. It didn't used to be this bad, but now it actually interrupts what is happening in other documents. Version: 6.1.1.1 (x64) Build ID: 2718b4a18dfcc6a54ebe5f7b801ee7a47fa81e0c CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: CL I7 processor, 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD (processor / drive speed is not the issue.) Open an odt file with LibreOffice Writer 30+ pages Open an ods file with LibreOffice Calc with several populated tabs Make a change in the spreadsheet. (Don't save it) Start typing in the document. The spreadsheet automatic save interrupts typing in the document and may even get focus.
It might be the same bug or a related bug, but sometimes the with two open files: 1 Open odt file with LibreOffice Writer 30+ pages 1 Open ods file with LibreOffice Calc with several populated tabs Clicking on a tab of an edited Calc spreadsheet will send the program into a system wait for an extended period of time. When the wait has cleared, the spread sheet tab will be blanked/cleared... Clicking back to the Writer document, the contents of the spreadsheet appear in the midst of the text as if a cut and paste have been performed or perhaps a drag and drop action.
We used to have bug 67487, but then it was closed as dupe of another issue, which was later closed as WFM. Yet, the non-blockingness was never achieved.
Thanks, Telesto, I think we can just close as dupe. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 94800 ***
