When I check for extension updates, the response is: No new updates are available 
 (which is incorrect).

The installed [English spelling and hyphenation dictionaries] is
dated 2017.11.01, but a newer one is available with the date 2018.09.01

I have others that have the same issue, but one should be sufficient to check out the issue.

I'll mark as duplicate of Bug 115333. 
Please write full example there, taking into account compatibility versions.
