Description Lee 2018-10-03 17:43:35 UTC
This has been seen in LibreOffice, Writer and Calc. To obtain the version, it was necessary to use the terminal command "libreoffice --version". The version is 6.1.2.1 10(Build:1)
Comment 1 Xisco Faulí 2018-10-04 14:34:12 UTC
Thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not
related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your
Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and
re-test?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present
Comment 2 Lee 2018-10-04 14:46:34 UTC
The issue is still present after the personal profile is reset.

aahh, sorry for my stupid comment, you can't access that dialog :D
does it hang if you call LibreOffice from the command line with SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen soffice?
Comment 5 Lee 2018-10-04 15:28:59 UTC
calling from the commandline "libreoffice SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen soffice" results in an error: SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen does not exist. If your previous note was asking me to get the version that should be available through the help>about libreoffice, using the commandline "libreoffice --version" responds: LibreOffice 6.1.2.1 10(Build:1)
Comment 6 Xisco Faulí 2018-10-04 15:49:07 UTC
Which windows environment are you using ?
Comment 7 Lee 2018-10-04 16:36:46 UTC
My windows is XCFE4, the standard environment that comes with XUBUNTU (Linux).

You gave the wrong command. Use:
SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen libreoffice

Do not start the command with "libreoffice".

Install package libxinerama and try again.
Comment 11 Lee 2018-10-26 20:22:00 UTC
The libxinerama package is not available for XUBUNTU 16.04 however, the package libxinerama1 is installed.

The problem happens if the environment is a remote desktop (X11). It does not happen when using the primary console of the Ubuntu system.
