I don’t find this report clear. What do you have in mind that would be a benefit for our project if we somehow talked to that extension’s developers? (Because developing in JavaScript for a browser is very different than developing in C++ for an office suite.) What exact functionality are you missing in LibreOffice? AFAICT, the extension provides automatic copy of highlighted text. But this functionality is already built-in in Linux operating systems, and is external to LO. If you’re missing that, you’re better off looking for a solution that is universal for most programs in your operating system. We can’t afford to increase the complexity of our code base even more with such a feature.
Ask the author first, if the author is willing to join the LibreOffice R&D team, you don't need to write the program.
