Graphic Toolbar in Calc and Writer

In LibreOffice there are BoarderFormating and LineFormating and the issue is that in different apps the same elements were used in a different way.

e.g. in the attachment you see the toolbars in calc and writer when you select an graphic.

writer
------
Show SetBorderStyle, LineStyle, FrameLineColor

calc
----
Show XLineStyle, LineWidth, XLineColor

different uno commands for the "same" graphic in different apps.

However I don't care about the technical reason. The main topic from the UI is, that the toolbar look different.

--------------
LineStyle and XLineStyle should use the same layout
LineWidth should be also available for boarders
--------------

I prefer the "larger" layout with an preview like you see in the attachment in calc.

I think with have LineWidth and XLineStyle also for boarders would improve the consistency of the UI a lot.

If XLineStyle isn't possible for boarders than at least LineStyle should look like XLineStyle, but than we have to check before if the new shape work everwhere where LineStyle is used now.

As a "new" contributor the situation is very confuse.

Nothing to say against harmonization as long the toolbar width does not exceed the maximum width.

What kind of object and what toolbar? Drawing objects in Writer and in Calc as well have the toolbar "Drawing object properties". The toolbar is the same in Writer and Calc, only that Writer has the text-wrap options in addition, which make no sense in Calc.

Beside that, please do not confuse "border" and "line". A "line" is provides be the draw:stroke attribute and a border by the fo:border attribute. We might find ways to harmonize the styles (not trivial), but for borders you can set individual borders for left, top, right and bottom. Such is not possible with lines.

Is this topic still relevant?

this isn't possible and I need it fo have an unified toolbar layout (everything else is fine)

Maxim, what's your take here?

No further input. The request is not specific enough to be actionable and the image toolbars are quite similar. Would recommend to resolve WF. What do you think, Andreas?
