BTW, I prefer the behavior of the floating "Font color" window above the floating Sidebar behavior (which the focus mess)
Confirm with version 4.4 and 6.2; win7
No need to undock the toolbar, same behaviour if I click on the bold icon, then I set the caret at the end of my text and I type again... I'm wondering if this is the expected behaviour as LibreOffice takes the format from the current position when we click on the document... Reproduced back to LibreOffice 3.3.0 OOO330m19 (Build:6) tag libreoffice-3.3.0.4
(In reply to Xisco Faulí from comment #3) > No need to undock the toolbar, same behaviour if I click on the bold icon, > then I set the caret at the end of my text and I type again... Indeed, I missed that > I'm wondering if this is the expected behaviour as LibreOffice takes the > format from the current position when we click on the document... Possibly. The core problem is the focus issue (at least how I see it). When clicking an item (say bold) inside a the floating sidebar, the main window loses focus (gray). I'm always click inside the document to recover the focus. Which disables BOLD. The current way to recover the focus properly 1. Press CTRL+F6 (see bug 120231 comment 1) 2. Click Main window gray bar (to grab focus) Both options are not obvious in IMHO. I prefer the behavior of the floating "Font color" or the Font work toolbar
