repro

Version: 7.0.0.0.beta1 (x64)
Build ID: 94f789cbb33335b4a511c319542c7bdc31ff3b3c
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win

The were two things that caught my attention:

1. It's not necessary to add a slide. You can open just a ODP with more than one slide and then insert the chart on slide 2 or higher.

2. In this case, it seems that Impress 'learns' the name of the unspecified undo object "Edit text" by undoing it and then redoing it. But I could not make work with “Insert Chart”.

It's like this:
1. Open a ODP with 2 slides
2. Go to slide 2
3. Insert Chart
4. To 'finish' the step 'Insert Chart', change 'focus' and click on box 'Click to add title' ('Edit text of Title text')

The Undo is now unspecified “Undo :” (NOT “Undo: Edit text of Title text 'Click to...'")
1. Click on unspecified Undo
It's “Undo: ” again (for Chart Insertion), but now Redo specifies the object! It's: "Redo: Edit text of Title text 'Click to…'"
2. Click on Redo
Undo changed from “Undo: “ to “Undo: Edit text of Title text 'Click to…'".

I attach a screencast.

The issue seems to be inherited from OOo. It's in LO 3.3. See screencast

Just the step "Edit text of Title text 'Click to…'" is missing

Repro in recent master build:

Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: cea165a3ebdb5f2a2b172004ff1b3848f303d78a
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Reproduced in OOo 3.3, so inherited.

I noticed that this happens only when the object is inserted in that "AutoLayout Object Area" (the frame with "click to add text"). It also happens with tables, videos and audio, but not with images (can be tested with the overlay buttons in the middle of a new slide) - a difference that might point to a solution?
