SharePoint allows checking out files so no one else is allowed to edit it at the same time: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/check-out-check-in-or-discard-changes-to-files-in-a-library-7e2c12a9-a874-4393-9511-1378a700f6de MS Office supports this function inside the applications: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/check-out-a-file-located-on-sharepoint-86f3e2be-53a0-4de3-b58c-7a085ec5d824 It would be nice to add this set of functionalities to LibreOffice. I'm not sure what all the related functions and respective UI parts would be, this requires further evaluation.
Mike, i know you love SharePoint ;-) Can you confirm this enh?
Created attachment 146561 [details] Checking out a file already open in Word When checking out a file on the web UI that is already open in Word, I get a message: "The file (...) is locked by (me) for shared use"
Created attachment 146562 [details] Checking out a file already open in Writer On the other hand, current-ish LO master does not lock the file like Word: I can check it out without an error message. Opening the file happened via a WebDAV-attched share. Created attachment 146563 [details] A file checked out from Word As per the description in the original comment, it is possible to check out files via the Information -> Manage Versions button in Word and the SP web UI reflects this state too.
Let me put this to NEW. We don't exactly have the same features unless the SP share is attached via the CMIS dialog.
