You mean the dropdown menu expands on hover without need to click? Why? And doesn't such an option depend on the operating system rather than a specific application?

It is convenient to reduce the action of pressing the "left mouse button". > And doesn't such an option depend on the operating system rather than a > specific application? Consistency, all the same, better.
(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #4) This feature is similar to the program on the website below. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/click-free-browsing/ipfpfhnlkoddglhimhdbboidjcfjlkji This feature, some "browser" already has.
Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math, Base, all use this design.
There are two possible resolutions here: 1. to say WontFix because likely number of users is not big; someone may create an extension, just like in given example; 2. to confirm as New enhancement with some low priority; and to be aware that this may never be fixed, until some volunteers to accept it.
This function is the trend. It is not added now. There will be people in the future, asking you to add.
There has not been much interest in this request so I close it as WF. It's up to the operating system how controls behave. And I doubt that saving a click has a benefit. Consider also accessibility in terms of tooltip showing up when the mouse is over the control.
