Description Roeland 2018-11-21 19:35:40 UTC
Description:
When exporting a calc spreadsheet to pdf, there’s also a header and footer exported with “sheet1” and “page 2” for example. This is not wysiwyg behaviour. It’s always a search for new people how to remove these (unwanted) words.

Can the default behaviour be changed to not include these markings when exporting to pdf? If people want something like this, the option should be to enable it, not to get this enabled from default. When creating a pdf, one is expecting an exact copy of the spreadsheet that’s been made.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a new spreadsheet
2. add your content
3. export to pdf

Actual Results:
The acual contents + markings "sheet1" and "page 1" can be found on the exported pdf.

Expected Results:
Only the actual contents are exported.

Reproducible: Always

You should disable header and footer on the page format.

Menu/Format/Page - [Header] [Footer]

In any case not a bug.

Dear Mario. This is not a bug indeed, but an improvement request.

I firmly disagree with closing as not a bug.

I want to open the discussion about this being (counterproductive) default behavior. I found out about how to remove it, but this shouldn't be default in the first place.

This behavior has nothing to do with pdf export, but with page's format

Your request implies change the default behavior for page style, if you want please add a new bug report, marking it in 'importance' as 'enhancement'.

What you can do it's change the page style and set the spreadsheet as default template.

Ok I will create a new bug report, but I think i'd have been easier and more polite to ask for a modification of this report..

What you're doing right here is just reacting on the form and not to the content, a valid request which I submitted.

Sorry not, because the new bug sure it's more clear without the comments in this one.

Hi Roeland,

I do not give much change to such a change request. And would you want the same change for printing..?
Anyway: already filed a new bug for the idea?

Hi Cor, I made a new and clearer report indeed (bug 121637 which is still unconfirmed.
