You know you could create XML Form Documents with LO? Have created a description for this. Includes using xml forms together with a Base database - but at this moment only with macros. See https://de.libreoffice.org/get-help/documentation/ > "Kurzanleitungen" > "XML-Formulardokumente ..." for a German description and examples for different forms. Could confirm there is no direct way (without macros) to work with xml in Base.
