Please give some more informations:
What extension (and what version) do you use?
What is the "new German spelling"? I use "Deutschsprachige Wörterbücher für Rechtschreibung, ilebentrennung und Thesaurus" from 27.12.2017.

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' once you've given the requested informations.

When Libreoffice is installed, the dictionaries (German, English, ...) are automatically installed. The new German spelling will be installed. Since I need the old spelling, I installed the extension "Alte deutsche Rechtschreibung" by Karl Zeiler (https://extensions.libreoffice.org/extensions/german-de-de-1901-old-spelling-dictionaries). Example: new spelling - "Dass" and in the old "Daß"! When I write a lawsuit, the new and old spelling is accepted. That is counterproductive! In OpenOffice the automatically installed new German spelling can be uninstalled. In LibreOffice the default dictionaries, spell checkers are "locked" and cannot be deactivated or uninstalled! It would be nice if each dictionary / spelling could be deactivated individually!

You can change this when installing or modify the installation afterwards. Use the method of your operating system. On Windows 10 find the app LibreOffice in "Apps & Features" and click on it. You get the items Modify and Remove. Click on Modify. There use Modify > Optional Components > Dictionaries. There you can de-select German.

LibreOffice is a multi-user app. The dictionaries are looked, because they are installed for all users and thus a single user may not remove it, because a different user might still need it. To remove it, you need to change the installation, see above.
