Description mgcarroll116 2018-12-27 16:26:55 UTC
Description:
Immediately following upgrade of Linux Mint 18.3 32 bit to Linux Mint 19 32 bit. I did a warm re-boot. I clicked on the desktop icon to open LibreOffice Writer. The application opened and upon clicking the mouse the application closed. This occurred on successive re-tries. This is the LibreOffice suite that is bundled with Linux Mint 19.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Follow on-line instructions to upgrade Linux Mint 18.3 32 bit to Linux Mint 19 32 bit using the terminal.
2. After installation, do a warm re-boot
3. Click on desktop icon to start LibreOffice "Writer" or other component. LibreOffice closes upon mouse click.

Actual Results:
LibreOffice opens. Immediately upon clicking the mouse to create an insertion point, LibreOffice closes.

Expected Results:
I expected to be able to enter text or in the case of Calc a number.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I have other issues with Libre Office; however, they have no bearing on this bug. I will not install Linux Mint 19 until this serious bug is fixed!

You cannot set New yourself.
This looks like NotOurBug but Mint's because it happens during upgrade.
You may reset the Lo profile or remove and install again LO to try to fix this.
Only other option is to look for solution in Mint's forums.
I use Mint myself but bug reporting is not straightforward there.
