Description: I am running Windows 10, and use English language with a Swedish keyboard layout, and ever since I installed LibreOffice 6.0.4 (am now up to 6.0.7) I have had a weird behavior whenever I start up a document in Writer and start typing. At some point the focus will jump to the menu bar and further typing will flip to various parts of the menus (thus potentially causing things to happen that I don't want). I haven't been able to determine what causes it. Right before filing this bug it was pressing SHIFT and J to begin a sentence, and I saw the menus flip open, but earlier this day it was pressing backspace to retype a word which did it. I was nowhere near the ALT key with any of my fingers, so that is ruled out as a cause, although the behavior is as if I accidentally hit the ALT key. Actual Results: ? See additional information below. Expected Results: ? See additional information below. Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: The bug is random, and only seems to appear once in a given session. I have no idea how to reproduce the bug, since it seems to be triggered in different ways each time. Maybe it has something to do with me using a Swedish keyboard layout in an English Windows environment? I haven't had this problem in any other software, though. Here's the information about my current version of LibreOffice: Version: 6.0.7.3 (x64) Build ID: dc89aa7a9eabfd848af146d5086077aeed2ae4a5 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL; Locale: sv-SE (en_GB); Calc: CL
Since LO indicates GL rendering, could you check you have the last drivers of your graphic card? (it'll allow to be up-to-date with OpenCL and OpenGL parts). You may also be interested with https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps
Thank you for the suggestions. I do have the latest driver for my graphic card, so that's not the issue. I have now removed my user profile and disabled OpenGL in LibreOffice and will see if that helps.
OK, I just got that weird behavior again. I had just typed a capital "L" and was going to type an "a" after, and when I hit "a" a menu popped open. So, no, it's not OpenGL or using an old user profile that causes that weird behavior.
Since there is no further development of LO 6.0, it would be good to know, if this bug also occurs with LO 6.1. Could you please try? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.
Have used LO 6.1.4.2 for a while now, and it does the same thing; I start typing and a couple of paragraphs later it suddenly just randomly jumps to the menu bar.
(In reply to photographen from comment #5) > Have used LO 6.1.4.2 for a while now, and it does the same thing; I start > typing and a couple of paragraphs later it suddenly just randomly jumps to > the menu bar. Does it happen with a specific character ? or if a combination of keys are used?
It seems to happen randomly. Sometimes it's when I press SHIFT + a letter, at other times it seems to be in the middle of me typing a word. Sometimes it happens within the first couple of sentences I type, sometimes it happens after I have written maybe ten-fifteen sentences. I haven't been able to find any sort of pattern as to when it happens or why. The only thing I can think of is, as I have said before, if me using English as the system language and a Swedish keyboard layout for typing has anything to do with it, but that may be a red herring, I don't know.
