Created attachment 148352 [details] Presentation with OLE objects for testing The attached document has OLE objects on the slides. They have the interaction "Start object action" assigned. This command is only available for OLE objects. When assigning it, the list provides all available verbs. That are the same verbs as in Edit > Object. Slide 1 has a document as OLE from WordPad with verb "Edit". "Open" would be available too. It works in edit mode and show mode. Slide 2 has a pdf-file as OLE. In edit mode it opens Acrobat Reader for me. Slide 3 has Math-Objects, one with verb "Edit", the other with verb "Save Copy as...". Slide 4 has a Chart-Object with verb "Edit". Slides 2, 3 and 4, work in edit mode, but not in show mode. Expected behavior: At least the own document types should work in show mode too. Long time ago, it had worked in OOo1.1.5 with sxi format, but it was already broken in OOo2.4.3. [I come across this error, while testing presentation:event-listener attributes.]
I can confirm that slide 3 and slide 4 didn't not work. Acrobat reader poped up for slide 2 when I clicked it. Verify with the version
Dear Regina Henschel, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! Warm Regards, QA Team MassPing-UntouchedBug
The OLE activation with WordPad and AcrobatReader works partly in show mode. WordPad and AcrobatReader start, but they are in background although the setting "Presentation always on top" is not checked. After you switch window with Alt+Tab (Windows 10) the applications can be uses on the object. The OLE activation with our own OLE objects Math and Chart does not work at all. At least for Math, where an outplace mode exists, this activating should work. There are still problems in Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 9d44236a62bf59d120dda89924d0d1407b2bd52b CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded Slide 1 (Wordpad): LibreOffice hangs for me, both in edit and show mode. Slide 2 (PDF) : OK Slide 3 (Math): Does not work in show mode. Slide 4 (Chart) : Does not work in show mode. Wordpad might be a problem with my current PC, but Math and Chart, which are our own applications, should work in show mode.
