In Tools > Options > Writer > Formatting Adds we have the section Display Fields (see also bug 117745) but those options are better placed at TOW > View.

Created attachment 149293 [details] Test document Document to check hidden options. Set variable "HideMe" in first line to true in order to hide fields below. The options moved to Tools > Options > Writer > View show hidden paragraph and fields even when HideMe is true. Weird behavior observed with T>O>W>Formatting Aids>Hidden characters (formerly "Fields: Hidden text") that should show the hidden chars between ABC---GH. Bug or mistake?
(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #2) Sorry - can't make sense out of that. What specifically you expect to see when, and what you don't see? Please avoid mentioning what could be irrelevant (since you may have moved some elements in some patch, please stick to e.g. how that's situated and named in released 6.2.0.3).
(In reply to Mike Kaganski from comment #3) > Sorry - can't make sense out of that. The attached file is there to verify my patch. And it illustrates the off-topic observation wit Font Effects=Hidden and T>O>W>FA>Hidden Text. Just ignore it- and review my patch, please :-).
