Where is extension file on your PC? In which catalog?

Which catalog?
It's in a folder's subfolder from which I had no problem installing the extension until now when I noticed that it was somehow missing, probably because of all the LibreOffice uninstallations and installations so as to use different versions and avoid different bugs.

Can not confirm on current Windows master/6.3.0alpha builds

Download of the altsearch.oxt v.1.4.2 via link to LO Extensions site in comment 0

Use the Extension manager and point to OXT selecting install for me--restart, AltSearch added to toolbar and dialog opens without issue. Remove via Extension manager and restart LO. Install via Extension manager, but for all users, and restart. Button added to toolbar, and dialog opens without issue. Remove via Extension manager.

I was referring to version 6.1.4.2 not 6.3.0alpha. I downgraded from v6.2 to v6.1.4.2 because of LibreOffice 6.2 instantly crashing when importing styles.

AltSearch installed and running on LO 6.1.4.2

No problem installing and running AltSearch on LO 6.1.4.2 Windows builds.

Slight glitch removing--restar of LO is necessary to fully remove but not prompted. Also a little flaky if install/uninstall while Writer is open-a restart cleared out all issues with that for me.

Hello Daniel.
This issue wasn't repro and that extension is long-time used.
So most likely you have/had local issue, such as with your profile.
I hope you resolved this long time ago.
If not, to reset user profile is the way:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resolving_corruption_in_the_user_profile
I'll close.
If you have some useful info, feel free to set Unconfirmed.

PS I hope you issue with styles is resolved in 6.2.7.1 so that you can use it. If not, please search for that bug.
