Description itz 2019-03-13 11:24:09 UTC
Description:
I have been using a LibbreOffice Calc for last half a year in my work, and have not encountered such problem.

I see my problem 2 time in the last week, she consists in the following, when i opening and working with the *.ODS file (i have differents files, but all files is not small from 4000-50000 strings-cells), after some time moment when i working with ods file, after sheduled autosave (it may after 20-30 minutes or more time after open file). i see crashed my data on screen - my data "float" on all document (my data not in those cells or empty cells), so I lose all the work from the moment of opening ods document!!! (it's important ) and not from last autosave.. for me it is very critical..

after reopen my ods file or check backup i see only my ods file, with same size and time atributes and without any new data or some editing.

so also i have additional info, i have this "bug" repeated on Microsoft Excel 2013 package (i launch it from ubuntu not from windows os/ntfs with using playonlinux) and now I think that this somehow may be with my disk/ram system. help me deal with this problem.

my notebook system is Ubuntu 18.04 LTS x64, HDD 500gb WD, ext4 partition, 4Gb ram ddr4, (all is "new state" no more 2 years)

Perhaps this is somehow related to the operation of the my ext4 disk subsystem or my RAM, at moment flushing data to disk is some kind of failure.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. frequent autosave in the moment of intensive work with the file.
2. at the time of autosave - paste large blocs of text into cells
3. at the time of autosave - or editing with manual inserting information into cells.

Actual Results:
I can not determine the frequency of this error.

Expected Results:
help to resolve this problem..

Reproducible: Sometimes

Comment 1 itz 2019-03-14 09:20:53 UTC
So I did some work to find the possible causes of this error.. and now i almost 99% sure that the reason for this error in the "new" Intel graphics drivers who i installed from this PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~oibaf/+archive/ubuntu/graphics-drivers

2-3 weeks later, i have some troubles with my new monitor and nb intel-videocard and try solution for update my intel graphic driver from this topic answers:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1065852/how-to-upgrade-intel-graphics-driver

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:oibaf/graphics-drivers

From the description of this PPA: This PPA provides updated X (2D) and mesa (3D) free graphics drivers for Radeon, Intel, and Nvidia hardware. Updates packages provide:

All packages are automatically built twice a day when there are upstream changes
Vulkan 1.1+ on recent Intel and Radeon GPU
OpenGL 4.5+ support and new OpenGL extensions: http://mesamatrix.net
OpenCL support with updated libclc
gallium-nine support installed by default.
VDPAU and VAAPI Gallium3D accelerated video drivers
OpenMAX IL Bellagio and XvMC only on zesty and older - disabled since artful due to not being broadly used
packages built against latest LLVM
Disabled Ubuntu MIR

after update and auto install drivers from this PPA, he replace all my pre-installed intel graphics drivers in ubuntu

p.s. ubuntu and many linux distros not have variants for remove or rollback or simple replace intel graphics drivers after install new graphics drivers!! only reinstall os may solve this problem, now i reinstall my os, and i hope that this bug with Calc & Excel will be solved :-)
