Happens to Calc as well as Writer.

Immediately after I type "~/" either LibreOffice freezes (and stops updating window content) while eating CPU, or crashes right away.

Does not happen when I use "/home/USER/" to type the path.

To be certain the reported issue is not
related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your
Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and
re-test?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present

Ok the problem now does not happen in Safe mode. And still does not happen in Normal mode afterwards. I've also tried to induce crash first using kill -9, as the Save As crash usually happens when I am trying to save documents *after* LO previously crashed and tried recovery.

Anyway, I'll mark this as UNCONFIRMED for now and will test under Safe mode first in future problems. Thanks!

OK, I am now experiencing this consistently after I removed ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user, start Calc again (so LO creates the default profile ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user again), and try to save the blank/opened workbook or even open the File Open dialog.

It still happens when I restart in Safe mode.

This also happens with 6.1.5. It freezes UI when I open the File Open dialog and type "~". The soffice.bin process is using 100% CPU. When I did an strace to the process, the output seems to be a loop of:

where fd 12 is a Unix stream socket (don't know which it connects too, netstat -anp doesn't give more details).

Also happens with 6.2.3.2. In safe mode, saving doesn't crash when I type "~". But opening does freeze Calc.
