Using the "Close Sidebar Deck" button action they look to briefly close, but immediately reopen. Conversely the Page, Styles, and Gallery deck do close.

The patch should be included in the daily builds available at https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/ in the next 24-48 hours.
