Description W 2019-04-19 17:58:34 UTC
Description:
Launching LibreOffice for the first time shows a window but it's blank. Killing it using xkill makes it go away. But launching it again, nothing happens.

At the first launch, this is logged to the syslog:

----------
Apr 19 19:46:32 rossy gnome-shell[3336]: g_environ_setenv: assertion 'value != NULL' failed
Apr 19 19:46:32 rossy kernel: [21766.123437] audit: type=1400 audit(1555695992.463:336): apparmor="ALLOWED" operation="open" profile="libreoffice-soffice" name="/home/wout/.cache/mesa_shader_cache/index" pid=32197 comm="soffice.bin" requested_mask="wrc" denied_mask="wrc" fsuid=1000 ouid=1000
Apr 19 19:46:32 rossy org.gnome.Shell.desktop[3336]: Window manager warning: last_focus_time (291294520) is greater than comparison timestamp (21766290). This most likely represents a buggy client sending inaccurate timestamps in messages such as _NET_ACTIVE_WINDOW. Trying to work around...
----------

On the other hand, if I open an existing spreadsheet from nautilus, the app launches as expected.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Calc

Actual Results:
Hangs

Expected Results:
Show an empty spreadsheet

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

I noticed this issue is solely related to Templates. I deleted my templates folder (~/.config/libreoffice/4/user/template) which fixed the issue. Except for the fact that every time is start up LibreOffice now, I get an error message that the template does not exist.

Recreating the template results in the same problem. Even choosing File > Templates > Save as Template makes LibreOffice hang/crash.

Thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not
related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your
Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and
re-test?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present
Comment 6 W 2019-05-09 09:53:33 UTC
Thanks for your reply. I just did a full profile reset which fixed the issue. So I suppose the user profile was corrupted by the OS upgrade.
