Description Andreas Gruhler 2019-04-25 07:42:42 UTC
Description:
Spell checking with a German dictionary (any of Austria, Belgium, Germany, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Switzerland) shows Language "[None]" when checking the document for spelling errors. See video at https://cloud.test.base4kids.ch/index.php/s/9MdGqYDeYWr2x8q to reproduce the bug. This behavior was only observed for German dictionaries, all others, e.g., French or English dictionaries appear to be unaffected.

Thus, it appears to be a regression of #124909 (fixed and closed successfully).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a German dictionary from "Extras > Language > For All Text"
2. Choose "Extras > Spelling"

Actual Results:
1. The German dictionary is selected
2. The popup appears "Spell check complete", but no suggestions are shown and Language equals "[None]"

Expected Results:
1. The German dictionary is selected
2. The popup appears with sugesstions and Language should equal "Deutsch (variant)", where "variant" is the variant of the Language previously selected in step 1

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
This is similar to the behavior I have, if I do not install the "hunspell-*" dictionaries in the desktop version of libreoffice. Thus, I think iOS lacks a dictionary. However, I do not know how to download these new dictionaries.

German Dictionary works in Notes App

The German dictionary seems not to be missing on the iOS device in general, because, the notes app for instance shows the German suggestions as expected.

Sorry, but it seems to work for me. A document has language for all text set to "Deutsch (Schweiz)". I type in a nonsense word, a correct word, and again a nonsense word. The two nonsense words get the wavy underline to indicate misspelling. I open the spell check dialog. It correctly indicates the language and the incorrect words, and accepts the correct word. See attached screen recording. This is with the 0.1(30) build.

Also the correction suggestion feature seems to work for me.

My bad, I rebooted the device, now it works. Must have refreshed the dictionaries. Thanks
