I added a third footnote. My result:

Click in margin next to last footnote on a page & drag down: whole footnote is selected
Click in margin next to a footnote (not the last one on a page): only first line is selected.

Comment 5 Dieter 2019-06-03 18:45:35 UTC
Same result as in screencast.

Actual behaviour:
If the footnote is not the last footnote on the page, you can always mark the first line (click in margin and move down). If the footnote has only one line, you can't mark anything. No problem to mark the footnote, if it is the last footnote of a page.

Steps:
1. Open attachment 151883 [details].
2a. Click left from first footnote and try to select footnote by dragging down.
2b. Click left from second footnote and try to select footnote by dragging down.
2c. Click left from third footnote and try to select footnote by dragging down.

Actual result:
2a. You can't select anything.
2b. You can select first line.
2c. You can select complete footnote.

You can at least select complete footnote OR you can select as much of the footnote area as you like.

Additional informations:
It's always possible to mark the actual line by dragging to the right.
