Created attachment 152471 [details] Sample ODP - Insert an MP3 file in a presentation, eg. one from [1], or open attached ODP, which contains one. - Save it as PPTX, and reload. => No sign of the MP3 in the presentation (the archive doesn't contain the MP3 file). In PPT embedding media isn't possible, so this isn't relevant there. Observed using LO 6.4.0.0.alpha0+ (58ef8c188b6bb2ed307f5e825cc7e475c33d0c33), 4.0.0.3 / Windows 7. Created attachment 152472 [details] Sample PPTX (saved in PP) Here's how PowerPoint saves a file with embedded MP3.
Actually, the same happens if the MP3 is linked, let's include that issue here.
On Win10 with master sources updated 3 days ago, I could reproduce this. I noticed this log on console: warn:sd.eppt:3468:6236:sd/source/filter/eppt/pptx-epptooxml.cxx:324: unknown shape not handled: com.sun.star.drawing.MediaShape
I can confirm that this bug still exists in LO versions 6.4.6 and 7.0.1.2. The audio appears to be embedded when first placed on a slide and tested while LO still running. However reopening the pptx file reveals that the audio is no longer embedded. Can the bug be escalated as it has a new importance with educational institutions going online?
norman: no need to repeat yourself. This bug is not a priority since: - it's not a crash - not a regression - you may use odp (the native format for LO) as a workaround
This was fixed by: https://git.libreoffice.org/core/commit/bc72514f90d90e1ab3fed8167663e835edf03508 tdf#53970 PPTX: fix export of embedded media files Wrong bug number went here. Thanks for the fix Tunde!
