Start from an empty spreadsheet
Double-click in cell A1
While the cell is in edit mode, click Select all
Click once cell A2
Double-click in cell A1

Issue: cannot enter edit mode on cell A1, or any cell, via double-click

even reproducible with AOO 4.1.5

Not reproducible for me with LO 6.3.1.0+ under Ubuntu if I select all from Edit menu. 
Reproducible if I click the Select All "button" at intersection between row numbers column and column letters row.

To restore the ability to edit, it is enough to press Escape key.

Did you try to press Escape key to restore the ability to edit?
