Request is to remove all gallery items from the LibreOffice installation and make them available on the extension webpage. The only Gallery theme within LibreOffice core repository will be the nearly empty pin theme (Bug 127501). Pro + save 14 mb on disk space + galleries can't be generic enough to fit 10% of the users + galleries are stored in install directory so the users can't add or remove shapes + gallery extensions are stored in user dictionary Con - Gallery items are not available after installation - "Functionality" will be removed and be available only via extension page - Link to the extension page is needed
I disagree to remove the gallery, the saving is not a big deal 14mb??? sorry!! hdd are big now and cheap per terrabyte or megabyte But i agree whit what you asking, bug 127501, fill in the empty pin symbols. The cons are more valuable then the pros. This is what i thinking. Best regards
Pro + Promote the extension webpage where this kind of stuff should be available and extend by the global community instead of the design team should define which gallery theme should be located in core and which not. maybe preload the most downloaded 5 gallery extensions instead of add random stuff.
I can understand to promote the extension website, and this can maybe via the preload off the most 5 useful gallery extensions. The only thing i am worry about is that good one's some time's are abandon by the creator. And yes i am no coder and i understand the technical interpretation off some request is not always a good luck charm to work with. Best regards
Clear -1 from me. While I always advocate extensions we have to ship some prototypes that are beneficial for the majority. I object the statement "can't satisfy 10% of the users" - some artwork is useful for almost every user, like the pin images you planned. From the code POV it might also not possible to purge the Gallery as some of the dots are used for the HTML wizard and I'm not sure how much this one has been removed.
Glad to see this brilliant post and all the details are awesome in this post. http://au-customer-service.com/medibank-email/
Two clear -1 for this request. Resolving as WF.
