LibreOffice has a wonderfull start center and promote there the (not really available) LibreOffice template can be an improvement, but only for Impress show the Template dialog is an default setting that "disturb" the user workflow. So turn off the settings "Start with Template Selection" in impress.
Sounds like a personal preference. Not that I do not share it but the majority may like this dialog. So better we provide better templates, or trust users to have own. Other opinions?
second option (which I prefer) is to better integrate the templates into the Start Center.
There is already a checkbox in the dialog to not open this template selection at future Impress starts. And in the Options dialog with Impress settings there exists the same checkbox. For this reason and because I believe this is a benefit for the majority of users (and it ensures that the users easier find and use LibO templates), I'm against a change.
/me why do we have this discussion again :D It was ON with OOo - LibreOffice turned it OFF, then later discussion reopened, turned ON again and now maybe OFF again? /me shaking his head ;) (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #1) > So better we provide better templates, +1 (In reply to Thomas Lendo from comment #3) > For this reason and because I believe this is a benefit for the majority of > users Not sure about the majority of users, but since turning Off is easy, I share Thomas' view
Thanks for the feedback In general I think have better template support at Start Center would maybe close the discussion. WFM
