George, thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your Libreoffice profile (https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile) and re-test?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present

I have already tried starting in safe mode and the problem still persists. I also tried my laptop and desktop computers (same libre office version) and the problem is is still there.

Writer canvas showing a DF border applied to Characters of selected text misapplied to containing Paragraph

Confirm on Windows 10 Home 64-bit en-US with
Version: 6.3.1.2 (x64)
Build ID: b79626edf0065ac373bd1df5c28bd630b4424273
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL; VCL: win;

Direct Formatting--applying a colored border via the Character dialog--ends up applied to the entire current Paragraph holding the text selection.

It does not affect the Paragraph style, nor the Character style.

But, to clear the errant border assignment to the paragraph, focus into the paragraph (or select the entire paragraph) to clear the DF.

That, while font attributes applied as DF to the selected words will clear but leave the paragraph border DF in place.

So, looks like the DF border is being misapplied.

Working with a Character style that assigns a Border behaves correctly.

In the attached clip, the Orange dash-dot brder was applied to the selected text that has just been cleared back to Text Body--border around paragraph remains. The two green dash-dot selections with highlighting were applied as a Character style.

I can't reproduce it in

Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: d52010013b9cacdd8f71e62fef18c1e679e807f2
CPU threads: 16; OS: Windows 6.3; UI render: default; VCL: win;
Locale: en-GB (en_GB); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Could it be possible it's fixed in master ?
