Description NISZ LibreOffice Team 2019-12-06 15:01:47 UTC
The attachment #75197 [details] from bug #61185 contains a chart made with LO 3.6 that has a custom legend size and it is not visible.
Since 4.0 to 6.3 the chart area size is a lot smaller than it was in 3.6, while the legend became visible.

Steps to reproduce:
1.	Open attachment #75197 [details] or its colorized version attachment #156262 [details]

Actual results:
The chart area is very small.

Expected results:
Chart area is larger, just like in LO 3.6 as seen on attachment #156261 [details]

The change between 3.6 and 4.0 could be bibisected using repo bibisect-43all, and gave the following three ranges as results:

1) The chart shrunk to small size in the area
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/log/?qt=range&q=4316e643ef345b0f673b4a03a80a4b7cb3185588..ae4e4a11d4300f7448cb6bd170fcb034542caddc

2) The area outside the chart changed to light blue
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/log/?qt=range&q=9d83ad0e99ab182506be99f7d6a2bec7f6fbe8c6..11e776023c89b3de690b37ffaed18ec996b9c207

3) The area outside the chart became blank again
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/log/?qt=range&q=8600bc24bbc9029e92bea6102bff2921bc10b33e..6978ddbf4738b4c53b9d2edbe6d5ad6a061d0d0f

This latest change could be bibisected to a single commit using bibisect-41max, which turned out to be:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=bea63709d05514555d5283279cd66439f4ceed73
author Michael Stahl <mstahl@redhat.com>	2013-01-18 23:40:13 +0100
committer	Michael Stahl <mstahl@redhat.com>	2013-01-18 23:46:33 +0100

"xmloff: refactor Generator version handling:"

However, this is an unlikely cause, I'd suspect one of Kohei's commits from before:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=3fd16d489ef402893ee8df6913e6bd011d61d1fa
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=c55d52262ea1d5f869a9528fd051ee19e687f1cc

Additionally, the disappearance of the chart that started in 6.5 is not mentioned in this bug report, and was reported in bug 129095.

Dear NISZ LibreOffice Team,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team
