Description Andrea 2019-12-08 19:51:28 UTC
list of bibliography entries in writer document generates duplicates for each biblio reference in the document. Numbering or short refs do not change this behavior.

Example (with unwanted duplicate in bibliography, with short refs):
text
abctext [ARJ00] (ref to an entry to the default-biblio, e.g. ARJ00)
deftext [ARJ00] (ref to the same entry, e.g. ARJ00)

Bibliography
ARJ00: Artymiak, Jacek, LibreOffice Calc Functions and Formulas Tips, 2011
ARJ00: Artymiak, Jacek, LibreOffice Calc Functions and Formulas Tips, 2011

Example (with unwanted duplicate in bibliography, with numbers):
text
abctext [1] (ref to an entry to the default-biblio, e.g. ARJ00)
deftext [2] (ref to the same entry, e.g. ARJ00)

Bibliography
1: Artymiak, Jacek, LibreOffice Calc Functions and Formulas Tips, 2011
2: Artymiak, Jacek, LibreOffice Calc Functions and Formulas Tips, 2011

Expected text and Bibliography (as in LibreOffice 6.2.8):
text
abctext [ARJ00] (ref to an entry to the default-biblio, e.g. ARJ00)
deftext [ARJ00] (ref to the same entry, e.g. ARJ00)

Bibliography
ARJ00: Artymiak, Jacek, LibreOffice Calc Functions and Formulas Tips, 2011

Please see if this is another problem solved with https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128845 and it's duplicates.
You may test LO daily master 6.5+ from https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/.
It will not interfere with you working LO that is, 6.3.3.

Hi Timur,

a) Bug 128845 (cannot modify document-internal bibliography entries) does not seem to have the same root cause. I do not try to modify database entries. I am just getting duplicate entries in the biblio-directory for each reference used in the document.

b) 6.5-alpha is fine (no duplicates). Tested with build:
Version: 6.5.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build-ID: 5f40fa6f29a2a51a5f843f7a92d57721e1b8d540

6.4.0.0.beta1 includes the bug

Version: 6.4.0.0.beta1 (x64)
Build-ID: 4d7e5b0c40ed843384704eca3ce21981d4e98920
Comment 4 Andrea 2019-12-09 21:00:45 UTC
clarification:
* I do not access the bibliography database itself
* I do not try to change bibliography database entries
* I simply "use" the bibliography to add biblio-references in a writer document
* if the same reference is used multiple times in the document, I am expecting the biblio-directory at the end of the document to list each biblio-entry only once

Thank you for a quick reply.
I understand that you got 6.5+ master and that it's fine. So this can be closed.
I still think it's a duplicate, like Bug 128328.
The fix was backported to, 6.3.4. Please use it when it's officially out.
Should you experience this agsin, feel free to set Unconfirmed.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 128845 ***

Hi Timur,
please note, that 6.4.0 beta1 still has the bug. The backport to 6.3.4 does not seem to be integrated yet?
There will be a shitstorm, if 6.4 is released and the biblio-directories are wrong.
Andrea

In bug 128845 you see target:6.4.0.1 so expected that 6.4.0 beta has the bug.
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/6.3#6.3.4_release shows details.
This fix is in 6.3.4.2.
It will be ready in any moment now but not yet: https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/?type=win-x86_64&version=6.3.4&lang=bs.
