Description:
can NOT convert a Text field such as 09/28/2019 to a valid date type field.  All attempts leave an additional character at the beginning of the converted field.

example: 09/28/2019 converts to '09/28/2019

Mac OS

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a Text field containing 09/28/2019
2. Format this field to a date
3. Date field is not valid, contains extra character

Actual Results:
'09/28/2019

Expected Results:
09/28/2019


Reproducible: Always

This is not a bug, but the expected behaviour.

You need to convert the values after setting date format e.g. via Menu "Data/Text to Columns..."
