Expected Results: Can it become more convenient to delete diagrams which would not be needed any more? Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info:
Thank you for submitting this bug report. Could you please clarify what you mean by "Can it become more convenient to delete diagrams which would not be needed any more?" Are you having difficulty deleting them or are there any errors that appear?
(In reply to iantheprogrammer from comment #1) If I insert a test picture, I can press the key “Delete” and the image object is immediately removed. But which software behaviour do you expect for a chart object? May an entry like “Delete” be helpful also in the context menu (and in the main menu “Edit”)?
(In reply to iantheprogrammer from comment #1) The “chart edit mode” influences the view for items which can be easily removed (or not). https://help.libreoffice.org/6.4/en-GB/text/schart/main0000.html#hd_id5631580
Do you mean you want to remove a chart while still editing it? I would not want such behaviour.
(In reply to Buovjaga from comment #4) A legend can be removed while the chart edit mode would be active. Can it be occasionally convenient to delete the whole diagram object directly (even if this mode was accidentally activated)?
(In reply to Markus Elfring from comment #5) > A legend can be removed while the chart edit mode would be active. > > Can it be occasionally convenient to delete the whole diagram object > directly (even if this mode was accidentally activated)? It does not feel right to me. I will ask UX team to judge
While in edit mode I wouldn't delete the whole object- it's like cutting the bough you are sitting on. It would also technically be challenging if not impossible. In normal view mode you get a delete menu item. Either show the Navigator (F5) or the respective deck in the sidebar and look for the new OLE object. Right-click and -> Delete. => WFM
