Description Dennis 2020-01-04 11:16:59 UTC
Description:
LibreOffice Calc Version: 6.2.8.2 (x64)Build ID: 82ddfca21ebc1e222a662a32b25c0c9d20169ee

When formatting a cell to Date (any variation) and entering 1/4 for the date it changes it to a fraction rather than the date. This method of entering a date has always worked for me in the past. For instance if I enter 1/3 in the cell that is formatted for Date entry it changes the 1/3 to: Jan 3, 2020.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set Cell format to Date (e.g. Jan x, xxxx)
2. Enter 1/4 in the cell
3. This will show up as 1/4 rather than Jan 4, 2020

Actual Results:
In a date formatted cell:

1/4 shows up as 1/4

Expected Results:
In a date formatted cell:

Jan 4, 2020 (Or any of the other chosen displayed results when setting the format options)

Reproducible: Always

Cell Format Cettings and Cell Results

This attachment shows the settings I have enabled for the Date Cell Format.

Above that is a screenshot of the results of the cell after entering the date.

Go to Tools => AutoCorrect Options => AutoCorrect
In tab replace delete the entry's 1/2; 1/3; 1/4

so for me not a bug

If you are not agree you can reopen as unconfirmed

Best regard

Hi,

Thank You for this information. I did not realize the Auto correct option was there. I've been using Libre Office for several years and never ran into this until today.

Thank you for the quick reply and explanation. I have tried your suggestion and this solve the issue I was having.

Thanks again. Have a great day.
