Description: The LO Writer submenu under Edit->Track Changes has two checkable items: 'Record' and 'Show' but the check marks are invisible with the X11 VCL plugin. The some problem appears on some (but not all) items in other menus, such the 'Track Changes' item in the View menu. See attached screenshot. About LO Writer: Version: 6.5.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: b203b9c83d0000c8465dcd92fb6b029a2f28c724 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: x11; TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@86-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2020-01-14_09:44:21 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded It seems that the problem is there are icons placed next to some checkable items and these icons take the place of the checkmarks. This problem doesn't appear with the gtk3 VLC plugin. Desired result: Put check marks rather than icons next to all checkable items in all LO menus when using the X11 backend. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start LO Writer with the X11 backend: export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen; libreofficedev6.5 2. Open the Edit->Track Changes submenu 3. Try checking and unchecking the Record item. Actual Results: No check marks appears. Expected Results: There should be a check mark visible next to Record when it's checked. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: As written in the description, this bug appears throughout all menus and submenus.

I confirm this with Version: 6.5.0.0.alpha0+, Build ID: 161d533adf3c2ba1321c0fb0adf863eb766fb5ae, VCL: x11 Bug already exists in 5.4.0.0.alpha1+, 9feb7f7039a3b59974cbf266922177e961a52dd1. Steps to Reproduce: 1. export "SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen" and start soffice from terminal. 2. Observe the icon in Edit > Track Changes. There should be a checkbox for Record' and 'Show' submenus. Works OK with GTK3. However, it seems with vcl plugin=gen, although there is no selection mark, there seems to be a "square" around these two items to indicate whether these are active. In the screenshot provided by the bug reporter, we can see that there is a square around the icon item "Show", which indicates that the "Show track changes" is currently enabled (the same applies to "Record"). As a result, the bug here is that the indication mark (i.e., square) is too weak which is useless. I revise the title line accordingly.
Dear Eltomito, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b.
