Created attachment 158155 [details] Writer doc. showing bug affecting page headers Version: 6.4.0.3 (x64) Build ID: b0a288ab3d2d4774cb44b62f04d5d28733ac6df8 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: default; VCL: win; Locale: en-GB (en_GB); UI-Language: en-GB Calc: threaded 1. Open the attached file (previous post). 2. Navigate to the first page of Endnotes, p. 11. Note that in the "Header" tab of the "Endnote" page style, the "Same content on left and right pages" and "Same content on first page" are UNCHECKED. 3. Now change the text of the header (or its style) on the first page of endnotes. EXPECTED RESULT: No other header should be affected. ACTUAL RESULT: The header on p. 13 also changes.
I confirm it with attached document and Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: 41177730421f9be9ad955766a5a19667d8003b11 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: GL; VCL: win; Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI-Language: en-GB Calc: threaded but I can't confirm it with a new document
After further investigation, this bug seems to affect only ENDNOTE pages, and FOOTNOTE pages where "Position" (in "Tools > Footnotes and Endnotes") is set to "End of document". Now try this in the attached doc. 1. Click on the first page of ENDNOTES (p. 11) and double-click "Default Style" (Page styles". 2. Now click antwhere on the main body of text, e.g. page 10. 3. Click back on page 11 (the "Page styles display will again show "Endnote"). RESULT: The header problem temporarily corrects itself. But will reappear when the file is saved and reloaded.
(In reply to R. Green from comment #2) > After further investigation, this bug seems to affect only ENDNOTE pages, > and FOOTNOTE pages where "Position" (in "Tools > Footnotes and Endnotes") is > set to "End of document". I also tried to reproduce it with a document of my own, but couldn't. > > Now try this in the attached doc. > > 1. Click back on page 11 (the "Page styles display will again show > "Endnote"). Result: I could change header of first endnote page and it doesn't afect other headers. So there's at least a workaround.
(In reply to Dieter from comment #3) > … Result: I could change header of first endnote page and it doesn't afect > other headers. So there's at least a workaround. It's not a workaround though, as the bug will reappear when you save, close and reload the file. If you could upload a document that works for you, perhaps this will shed some more light.
It is apparent that for "Endnote" paages, the "Same Content on first page" option (Page style > Header) is non-functional: i.e. it acts as if it is permanently ticked. Therefore the header is defaulting to the "Same content on left and right pages" option (Page style > Header).
Also, if you change the page style of endnotes (in Tools > Footnotes and Endnotes), you get the same thing happening: i.e. the "Same Content on first page" option is again disregarded. P. S. If you repeat this test, be aware that you will also encounter Bug 131132. Save, close and reload the file as a workaround.
It looks to me like these two bugs are duplicates. The same thing said in bug 131132 comment 2 is true here - if you switch to web view, and then back again, the first page header of the endnotes is empty, and left and right have different contents. (Of course, the contents are messed up, but I assume that is caused by confusion over what the program was displaying earlier.) So - it doesn't seem as if there is anything limiting these two styles to not use a different first (or left/right) header/footer, but the layout is not cooperating.
Yes, I'm pretty sure this is a duplicate, so lets just mark it as such. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 131132 ***
